A year ago we were blown away by the phenomenal fish and chips. So we had to visit again the next time we were in Oregon. We were once again amazed by the incredible dishes and service. The food was served quickly and tasted as fantastic as it did one year ago! This was the only restaurant (of the many we tried) that we revisit. Worth every cent.

The Sand Dollar Restaurant in Rockaway, Oregon is a real gem! First off, the location is unbeatable – right on the beach with amazing views. They have fantastic outdoor seating where you can enjoy the fresh air and the sound of the waves. But even if the weather isn't cooperating, the inside is just as inviting. The front restaurant area has a cozy, classic feel, and then there's the lounge – perfect for relaxing with a drink and good company. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. And don't even get me started on the food! They use fresh, local ingredients and you can really taste the difference. Whether you're in the mood for seafood, a burger, or something a little more unique, you won't be disappointed. If you find yourself in Rockaway Beach, the Sand Dollar is a must-visit. It's the kind of place that combines delicious food, a fantastic atmosphere, and a prime location for a truly memorable dining experience. I had the Elk burger. Yummy.

The food we ordered was delicious but to pair it with the patio seating is absolutely over the top. Really enjoyed our meal and are waitress Mary, she was extremely friendly and went over and beyond to make it a perfect evening for us. I wish I would have found this place sooner, the meals are reasonable as well as the drinks. They offer a full wet bar, I ordered a blackberry crown with lemonade that was delicious! I also ordered the bacon cheeseburger and my Wife ordered the poplano pepper burger and swapped out her fries for a salad. She also ordered a Moscow mule. Mary was very attentive to our every need. Our glasses never went empty, loved her attitude!

The clam chowder was super yummy, had the seafood dish with the red sauce and was amazing! Food came looking so good we forgot to take pictures before it was gone. We were a group of 16 and they were super good at accommodating us. We’ll definitely go back every time we visit.

While the interior of the restaurant could use an overhaul, the food was phenomenal. Best food we had on this coast trip by far. The shimp sandwich and steamer class were both fantastic. Our server was super friendly, bilingual, and accommodating. While the town of Rockaway Beach is not really anything to write home about, if you are staying on the north coast, this spot is worth the visit!

Quaint restaurant right along the ocean in Rock Away Beach Oregon. We had the house made clam chowder as an appetizer and it ranks right at top of a good clam chowder. It was creamy, but not pasty and it was gluten free. I then had a Cheeseburger with fries and was excellent. My wife had the gluten free chicken tacos. The restaurant is located right on the beach by the ocean and the view is awesome. The servers were very friendly and courteous.

We stopped to eat at the Sand Dollar because we were taking the Scenic Railroad steam train ride. Am I glad we did. What caught my eye on the menu was a roasted beet sandwich. I love beets but couldn’t imagine them on a sandwich so of course I had to order it. Made on Texas toast, it was an Havarti cheese, roasted beet and sliced apple grilled cheese sandwich! It was delicious, the perfect marriage of flavors and textures. The French fries were darn good too. We would be driving from Newport to Long Beach the following weekend and I promised myself that we would stop for lunch on the way. This is a sandwich I will definitely try to make in my own kitchen once we get back home.
